Location: Downtown Vancouver (In-Person)
Schedule: 45 days/week 8-hour shifts Wednesday/Thursday through Sunday Approx. 20-40 hours/week
Term: Seasonal April through September (start and end dates can be flexible and accommodating in case it is required by your practicum/co-op programs)

Discover Canada Tours a family-owned Canadian and preferred tour operator for World Cup 2026 by Destination British Columbia is hiring energetic and enthusiastic Summer Sales Representatives to promote and sell unforgettable local and regional travel experiences. Whether its a local attraction a day trip to Whistler a scenic escape to Victoria or a multi-day journey through the Canadian Rockies youll help visitors craft amazing memories while gaining valuable experience in the tourism industry.
What Youll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Domestic & Inside Sales Manager the Summer Sales Representative plays a key role in driving Discover Canada Tours front-line sales for our summer products both in office and at outdoor selling booths.
As a Summer Sales Representative your core responsibilities include:
- Lead a street team with company props to engage with and sell directly to tourists at Vancouver downtown locations including the outdoor selling booths and the Discover Canada Tour office.
- Actively sell a range of experiences including day trips sightseeing tours Hop-On-Hop-Off passes and weekend getaways.
- Provide knowledgeable and enthusiastic answers to inquiries about local attractions and destinations.
- Utilize our booking system to process reservations and issue tickets efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and manage sales materials (e.g. maps brochures sales float and more) and ensure daily sales records are accurate and up to date.
- Upsell additional experiences to enhance guest satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Sales team by sharing customer feedback and contributing ideas to strengthen our direct-to-consumer strategy.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Occasionally assist with greeting tour groups at departure points and support promotional activities including operating the DCT Marketing Bike during street-level campaigns.
- Assisting with other general Discover Canada Tours & West Trek Sales Initiatives from time-to-time.
- Identifying and soliciting our services and tours to new clients target groups and organizations
- Participate in Familiarization (FAM) trips to experience our tours and attractions firsthand.
- Attending in-office sales meetings to update the status of accounts to the Sales team and the Management team.
- Managing an email and phone line and being the first line of contact for DVT related support questions and booking inquiries
- Studying and analyzing competitors pricing and products.
- Assist in answering the office phone and directing calls to the appropriate person.
- Assist the sales team with walk-in customers and other tasks upon request.
Here are The Must-Have Qualifications:
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Strong English language skills both oral and written
- 0.5 to 3 years of prior experience in sales or customer service preferably within the Tourism Hospitality Events Outdoor Recreation or Entertainment industries
- Enrolled in or recently completed post-secondary education in Tourism Hospitality Communications Outdoor Recreation or a related field
- Outgoing and energetic with a natural ability to approach and engage with new people
- Confident in communicating clearly and effectively with a focus on helping others make informed decisions
- Passionate about travel and knowledgeableor eager to quickly learnabout destinations such as Whistler Victoria and the Canadian Rockies
- Motivated to gain real-world tourism experience and contribute positively to a fast-paced team-oriented environment
