Job Summary

OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Appraiser to work under the general supervision of the County Assessor.

Appraises real property for ad valorem tax purposes using industry-accepted methods for determining value on improved and unimproved rural residential and agriculture properties.

Appraiser I - This is the appraiser trainee that works through education and training to become licensed to full performance classification level for residential appraiser work.

Appraiser II - This is the licensed full performance classification level for residential appraiser work.

Appraiser III- This is the certified residential appraiser classification level. This level may lead and train other appraisers.

This is a full-time benefitted position generally working M-F 8 a.m.-5 p.m. You get weekends off 14 paid holidays and plenty of personal leave time! We have competitive wages great insurance benefits and we also participate in the Utah Retirement System.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Appraisers perform a variety of duties encompassing the complete appraisal and valuation process for countywide personal and real properties to determine tax valuation. You will get to visit all parts of the County to conduct classification valuation and appraisal of real property including residential and agricultural. You will input the data into the appraisal technology and compare it to other properties to determine the value of the property. You will monitor trends review appraisals for consistency and equity measure and sketch properties and analyze appraisals for variation from standard. (see full job description attached).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Appraiser I: ($26.54) Associates degree or education equivalent AND One (1) year of work experience as a residential or commercial appraiser.

Appraiser II: ($31.02) Associates degree; AND 150 hours of specialized training in residential and agricultural appraisals; AND Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties.

Appraiser III: ($34.17) Bachelors degree; AND 150 hours of specialized training in residential and agricultural appraisals; AND Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties 2000 hours of which must have been performing above and related duties.
