The Opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Leader of Operations for the Pediatric Perioperative Services team to lead the advancement of health and health care for children youth and families in the Maritimes in fulfilling the pediatric perioperative redevelopment project associated with the IWK Surgical Bundle. The Individual will lead the planning design and implementation of the redevelopment work from a clinical perspective. Working in collaboration with the Pediatric Perioperative team the Clinical Lead will work closely with the Project Manager Facilities Manager Perioperative Services and the clinical team to provide the development and implementation of plans; function as a strategic resource for the operational and clinical teams to ensure that an optimal structure design and implementation of the change(s) is/are in place to achieve desired outcomes and benefits; implements mitigation/resolution strategies; liaises with key support areas and stakeholders to ensure operational and clinical outcomes are achieved; applies change management principles to develop engagement strategies and action plans to maximize likelihood of success; builds relationships with stakeholders such as physicians and surgeons to ensure input into clinical design and operational processes and outcomes; assists in the development of project documentation (e.g. delivery plans proposals charters work plans communication plans etc.) as required.

Reporting to the Manager Perioperative Services Childrens Heath program the clinical lead will work closely with interprofessional team members physician leaders and internal/external partners in the execution of a success redevelopment project.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 37.5 hours bi-weekly

Your Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Nursing required (candidates with commensurate experience and education will be considered).
Registration with NSCN required
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience working in a perioperative environment required
Minimum of three (3) years of pediatric experience required
Minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role required considered an asset
Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships and teams and leading health care operations
Demonstrates the ability to utilize a collaborative approach with team members and partners internal and external to IWK Health
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through collaboration and excellent project management skills
Demonstrates strong communication skills
Fosters a positive work environment where team members feel empowered respected and valued
Competency in other languages an asset
