Vertex is seeking passionate and dedicated Project Based Field Supervisors to partner and lead our Operations field teams with various Western Canada based projects. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals with experience within the oil & gas industry with a solid leadership background in industrial/tank cleaning maintaining Alberta OH&S standards and effectively leads for safety and success.
We are seeking local candidates from the Sherwood Park/Nisku areawith a proven track record of supporting and leading project crews professionally successfully and safely - someone who is highly organized time management sensitive has strong communication skills and enjoys leading and team building. We are looking for individuals available to take the next step in their career with us starting in February or March 2026.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years experience in the oil and gas industry
- Class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract
- Has required H2S Alive CSO and First Aid safety tickets
- Ability to maintain and provide negative drug and alcohol (D&A) test results as required for access to client sites
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and with other people
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
- Physical stamina and endurance required to perform repetitive tasks
- Experience maintaining Alberta OH&S standards
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skills in administrative tasks organization and time-management
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations as needed
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
NICE-TO-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of the execution of Tank and Vessel Cleaning services
- Knowledge of oilfield services activities
- Class 1 or 3 driver license with off road experience and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operator various types of equipment (forklift picker truck etc..)
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Uphold the highest standards of professional integrity ethics safety and compliance across all activities
- Drive results through goal-oriented self-motivated performance and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Foster strong collaboration and professional engagement with internal teams external stakeholders and vendors
- Interpret and execute contractual requirements scopes of work project plans and technical drawings accurately
- Supervise and support field operations including tank/vessel cleaning personnel oversight and daily toolbox meetings
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety environmental QA/QC and Vertex safety program requirements
- Coordinate mobilization by preparing equipment trucks materials and resources for job readiness
- Provide technical guidance hands-on training equipment setup support and routine maintenance/troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate documentation logs reports inventories and daily shift notes for project tracking and compliance
- Support project execution through forecasting change management estimating input procurement practices and PM support
