About the Role:

Join us on the Exploratory Engineering team! You will be an individual contributor on a collaborative team spearheading the development and evolution of Dolbys audio technology products to address new consumer computer and communication opportunities. You will enjoy improving your own skills and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use your software design and architecture skills to investigate the application of Dolby technologies to new markets

  • Use your creative instincts to prototype new entertainment experiences

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in C/C working with audio or video processing libraries

  • Demonstrable proficiency in software test development and automated test frameworks (e.g. pytest Googletest)

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Python

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery principles and practices

  • Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban principles and practices

  • Familiarity with the open-source community including libraries licenses and best practices

  • Familiarity with gaming content creation tools such as Unity and Unreal game editors

  • Effusive passion for movies music and video games!

Even if you do not have previous professional experience to meet the listed qualifications we will consider relevant project volunteer and extracurricular experiences and we encourage you to include them on your resume and apply.

ELIGIBILITY:

Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday Friday for 3 months between May/June 2026 August/September 2026.

Start dates for the internship are as follows: (*note* this date is not flexible)

  • Monday May 18 2026

  • Tuesday May 26 2026

  • Monday June 15 2026

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $50-55/hr and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range and perks and benefits for your location during the hiring process.
