Loopio is looking for a passionate and endlessly curious Staff Software Developer to join one of our growing teams. You will work cross-functionally across a team of innovative Engineers Product Managers and Designers to deliver a world-class product to our terms of how we work we put a strong focus on collaboration and working together to support each other in everything that we do.

What Youll Be Doing

• Leading and rapidly building end-to-end features from scratch for Loopios web platform

• Proactively build technology to prevent bugs as they come up because you cant stand crappy software

• Interact with and gather detailed feedback from our customers because you understand that creating a user-centric experience comes first

• Collaborate closely with our Product Managers and Product Designers in an agile environment to bring features to life and iterate on them based on our customers feedback

• Mentor and coach others providing technical guidance and helping build an environment of knowledge-sharing and encouraged feedback

• Comfortable leading technical design discussions and facilitating technical decision-making. Experience as a technical lead is a bonus!

What Youll Bring to the Team

• 7 years of professional software development experience

• Strong experience with backend and API development using PHP Python or Java

• Experience with frontend development with a solid understanding of React and JavaScript

• Strong understanding of database design and RDBMS such as MySQL

• Experience working with search technologies or libraries such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch

• Proficiency in using and designing RESTful APIs

• Strong experience with AWS and DevOps practices

• Comfortable integrating AI-assisted or LLM-powered capabilities into production applications working alongside ML or data partners

• Experience mentoring other engineers through coaching design reviews and code reviews

• Comfortable guiding technical design discussions and facilitating technical decision-making

• A growing passion for driving process improvements and improving software development productivity for the team

• Experience in the following is a plus: monolithic and microservice architectures Cypress and integrations with third-party applications

Where Youll Work

• Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We are HQd in Canada with established hub regions around the world where we hire from.

• Our employees (or Loopers as we call ourselves!) live and work in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario) London and India (specifically in Gujarat Maharashtra and Bengaluru).

• The majority of our team is based in ON and BC which means these employees live and work remotely within a 300km radius of Toronto (within Ontario) and Vancouver (Within BC).

• We offer flexible co-working locations available to Loopers in ON and BC. Those based in ON have the option of working out of our convenient co-working space located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and a 12-minute walk from Union Station. BC Loopers have the option to work centrally in Vancouver. It is whatever works best for you!

• Youll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK India and North America (were just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work during the workday
