Job Summary

Job Title: APP for The CVPCU Nocturnist

Location:Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore MD

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is a 32 bed adult surgical intermediate care unit. The patient population consists of critically ill pre and post-op patients that will undergo or have undergone cardiac surgical interventions including but not limited to coronary artery bypass valve replacements and repairs Type A aortic dissections and heart or lung transplantation.

Schedule:

  • Permanent Night Shifts (applicable differential applied)
  • Including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the CVPCU including assessment diagnosis and management of postoperative cardiovascular patients.
  • Perform invasive procedures including but not limited to central line placement arterial line placement chest tube removal and pacer wire removal.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess diagnose and manage critically ill patients in the CVPCU.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition treatment options and discharge planning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient care and outcomes in the CVPCU.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Active unrestricted ACNP or PA-C license and certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: Minimum 55.81/hour - Maximum 86.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
