DescriptionDNV Maritime Region Southeast Asia Pacific & India is seeking a Newbuilding Surveyor to join our Hobart office on a 2 year time-limited basis providing class services shipyards and certification of materials and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Survey of vessels during Newbuilding stage.
- Certification of materials and components manufactured by local Hobart industries.
- Establish and maintain good customer relations with local clients.
- Technical assistance externally and internally as needed.
- Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules regulations instructions guidelines and quality requirements of DNV.
- Maintain the confidentiality of clients business processes designs developments and documentation.
- Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation and integrity of DNV.
- When applicable to supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out as above and in an efficient and economic manner.
- Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.

QualificationsPosition Qualifications/Requirements
- 5 years of relevant experience in Maritime Surveying.
- Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering or relevant degree.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Technical competencies: strong understanding/experience of class statutory surveyor work and associated responsibilities.
- Behavioural competencies: Team player but able to workindependently on surveys.
- Flexibility in traveling is required.
- Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions ofthe job.
- Fluent or near native in English (written and verbal).
