The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for providing clinical support to ambulatory oncology patients at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities include assisting with pharmacyrelated questions and clinical issues providing patient education with a focus on anti-cancer therapies supporting the prescribing of anti-cancer therapies and supportive care and ensuring access to discharge medications in collaboration with social workers case managers and The Johns Hopkins Care at Home Outpatient Pharmacies.
As a member of the ambulatory care team the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides direct patient care and helps facilitate access to specialty medications regardless of the dispensing pharmacy location. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist works collaboratively with The Johns Hopkins Care at Home Outpatient Pharmacy team which supports financial assessment prior authorization patient assistance grant coordination and dispensing for specialty medications.
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Medical Oncology provides pharmacy support primarily to patients with the following malignancies: central nervous system gynecology head and neck and sarcoma. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialists also works collaboratively with pharmacy team members for secondary coverage of other solid tumor disease states.
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides education to students residents pharmacists and other health care practitioners and serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students and pharmacy residents of ASHP-accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy practice and specialty practice programs. Additionally the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist supports institutional research and actively participates in hospital and departmental committees which include but are not limited to formulary management and policy development.

Salary Range: Minimum $58.41/hour - Maximum $96.46/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
