As a Principal Instrumentation Engineer you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience. Reporting into the I&C Department Manager as well as the Portfolio Engineering Manager the role will require the successful applicant to execute FEED detailed design and execution support scopes.
The role is fulltime and based in Perth with occasional site visits to Darwin.
What youll do
We are looking for a Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Perth.
The role responsibilities include:
- Delivering discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate manage and supervise engineering resources on projects to meet project requirements on time and within budget.
- Manage discipline specific engineering activities such as:
- ensure the project scopes are clear and that changes comply with project change management processes
- prepare project documentation such as datasheets scopes of work work instructions input to design drawings.
- prepare and oversee the production of detailed designs and drawings specifications data calculations and reports
- participate in relevant meetings prepare progress reports and follow required quality procedures (eg Checking of technical deliverables)
- provide assistance and advice during procurement construction and commissioning activities. For example write requisitions and conduct technical bid evaluations.
- estimate engineering hours for projects and track hours to approved budget.
- Design for appropriate levels of risk and be conscious of HSE input to all elements of the design.
- Provide technical support supervision and advice to the discipline team and project teams; participate in peer reviews; and consult with relevant resources as required.
- Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline.
What youll have
- A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
- Substantial technical and practical Brownfields experience in the relevant discipline in the same or similar industry including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
- Hydrocarbons/LNG industry experience.
- Extensive experience in managing diverse teams across multiple locations to deliver project outcomes (highly desired) including a keen interest in managing and coaching individuals to develop a high performing team.
- Strong experience in client inter-discipline and construction interface management.
- Must have degree qualification to Washington Accord.
- Ideal candidate would have Functional Safety qualifications (TUV or equivalent) and EEHA competency.
- Must be able to work independently to review design documentation and work collaboratively within client teams.
- Looking for experience across Instrumentation and control systems and ideally have site experience trouble shooting and resolving design deficiencies especially on FPSOs.
- Field experience especially with FPSOs or offshore installations highly desirable.
