Job Summary

Speech-Language Pathologist 26/27 SY
The speech-language pathologist must comply with all provisions and conditions
required by Lakeside School District the Arkansas Department of Education/Special EducationDivision (ADE/DESE) and the federal rules and regulations governing the Individuals withDisabilities Education Act (IDEA).


The speech-language pathologist must maintain and ensure that all current certifications
licensing or other comparable requirements comply with the State Education Agency (SEA)
certification standards that apply to the provision of special education and related services.


It is the responsibility of each speech-language pathologist to:
1. To actively participate in the referral evaluation and placement of students identified as
needing special education and related services.
2. Provide pre-referral information and support to general education staff and parents.
3. Ensure a full and individualized evaluation for each student considered in need of special
education and related services under Part B of IDEA.
4. Analyze score interpret and compile evaluation information.
5. Write evaluation reports and make programming recommendations for the provision of
special education and related services.
6. Develop implement and maintain the Individualized Education Program (IEP) designed
for each student needing special education and related services.
7. Conduct referral evaluation IEP annual review and separate programming conferences
for students identified as needing special education and related services.
8. Maintain all Due Process records and ensure that all necessary information and forms
required by the ADE/DESE and Lakeside School District are present current complete
and arranged in chronological order.
9. Maintain confidentiality of all student records.
10. Stay informed of federal and state laws and regulations governing programs designed to
provide educational services for students with disabilities
11. Act as a resource person for teachers counselors administrators and parents.
12. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by administrative staff.

Applicants must hold a current Arkansas teaching certificate. Any applicant who holds an out-of-state teaching certificate must provide documentation showing they have started reciprocityprocedures as required by the Arkansas Department of Education.


Salary ranges from a minimum ($57980) to a maximum ($80027) - based on thesalary schedule for a 190-day contract. Salary is based on experience. A complete salary schedule can be found on our school website.
