We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Crawley starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach pupils in Lower Key Stage 2 helping them develop confidence independence and strong academic skills across the curriculum.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 4 class delivering engaging well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of all learners. You will be joining a friendly and professional Key Stage 2 team where shared planning reflective practice and professional development are actively encouraged. Leadership is approachable and committed to supporting staff in achieving the best outcomes for their pupils.
The Role
As a Year 4 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across all curriculum areas. You will monitor pupil progress identify gaps in learning and provide targeted support to ensure that every child makes strong progress. Encouraging independence critical thinking and positive learning behaviours will be central to your classroom practice.
You will work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to maintain a consistent and high-quality approach across the phase. Developing strong relationships with parents and carers will also be an essential part of your role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum
Use assessment to track pupil progress and inform planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Maintain a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment
Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2 ideally Year 4
Be confident delivering the national curriculum
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a clear commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
Work positively as part of a team
Early Career Teachers are welcome and will receive mentoring and guidance.
