Shape the Start of Childrens Educational Journey
We are seeking a passionate nurturing and experienced Reception Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Derby starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils at the beginning of their formal education helping them develop confidence independence and a love of learning in a structured and engaging environment.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class delivering high-quality play-based lessons that meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The school prioritises inclusion pupil wellbeing and professional development seeking a teacher who can inspire children academically socially and emotionally.
Your Role
In this role you will plan and deliver engaging EYFS lessons that promote childrens learning across all areas. You will observe assess and record pupils progress using this information to plan next steps and ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality EYFS learning experiences
Promote childrens personal social and emotional development
Encourage independence confidence and positive behaviour
Deliver play-based and structured learning activities
Observe and assess childrens progress and maintain accurate records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning environments
Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching EYFS or Reception
Be nurturing patient and enthusiastic
Be confident delivering play-based and structured learning
Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
Be reflective organised and proactive
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Early Career Teachers with EYFS experience are welcome and supported.
