Inspire Pupils in Upper Key Stage 2

We are seeking a passionate organised and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Beeston starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 helping them develop independence resilience and confidence as they prepare for Year 6 and secondary school.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 5 class delivering high-quality engaging lessons across all curriculum subjects. The school values inclusive practice high expectations and pupil wellbeing and is looking for a teacher who can motivate and inspire pupils academically socially and emotionally.

You will join a collaborative KS2 team where shared planning reflection and professional development are encouraged. Leadership is approachable and supportive providing staff with the guidance and resources required to deliver excellent teaching and learning.

The Role

As a Year 5 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons that challenge pupils while supporting a range of abilities. You will use assessment effectively to track pupil progress identify learning gaps and inform future planning. Supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development is a key part of the role helping them become confident independent learners.

You will work closely with teaching assistants colleagues and phase leaders to ensure continuity and high standards across Key Stage 2. Communication with parents and carers is essential to keep them informed about pupils progress and achievements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum

• Monitor and track pupil progress using assessment to inform planning

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners

• Maintain a safe structured and inclusive classroom environment

• Promote positive behaviour resilience and independent learning

• Collaborate with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Participate in staff meetings CPD and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5

• Be confident in curriculum delivery assessment and differentiation

• Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective proactive and adaptable

• Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding

• Have a positive professional approach to teamwork
