Year 2 Teacher – Grantham

Teach and Inspire Pupils at the Heart of Key Stage 1

We are looking for a passionate and committed Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly primary school in Grantham starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils at a crucial stage in Key Stage 1 helping them consolidate their learning from Year 1 while building independence confidence and key skills across all curriculum areas.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality engaging lessons ensuring pupils are challenged academically while receiving the support they need. The school values collaboration inclusion and staff wellbeing offering a supportive environment for professional growth and reflective practice.

Your Role

As a Year 2 Teacher you will plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge pupils of all abilities. You will track progress identify learning gaps and tailor support to ensure every child achieves their potential. Promoting resilience independence and positive behaviour is a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 2 curriculum

• Monitor pupil progress using assessment to inform planning

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners

• Maintain a safe structured and inclusive classroom environment

• Promote positive behaviour resilience and independent learning

• Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Participate in staff meetings planning sessions and CPD

• Contribute to school initiatives and curriculum development

Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2

• Be confident in curriculum delivery assessment and differentiation

• Possess excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective proactive and adaptable

• Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding

• Have a positive professional approach to teamwork
