The Role: Project Manager Consulting

• Location: Remote (within Germany only) or in our office in Freiburg im Breisgau.
• Team: You will report directly to the Head of Business Field working closely with international experts and researchers.
• Level: Independent to Leading/Providing Guidance.

Your Mission: Take Ownership of Impactful Projects!

As a Project Manager you are the heartbeat of our advisory and research mandates. You ensure that our projects in international climate policy carbon markets (Article 6) and climate finance are delivered with excellence.

• End-to-End Project Ownership: You take full responsibility for defining scope timelines budgets and resourcing. You proactively manage risks and ensure top-tier quality assurance from kick-off to final delivery.
• Client & Stakeholder Interface: You act as the primary operational point of contact for our clients (public sector private sector NGOs) managing expectations and ensuring clear reliable communication.
• Coordination of Expert Workstreams: You align technical workstreams integrating inputs from consultants and researchers into coherent high-quality outputs with a unified storyline.
• Financial Tracking & Governance: You monitor burn rates vs. budgets forecast resource needs and flag deviations early to ensure project profitability.
• Process Improvement: You dont just follow SOPsyou improve them. You mastery project tools (e.g. Asana SharePoint) and help us increase delivery excellence.

We are looking for a proactive driver who enjoys high levels of autonomy and has a deep understanding of climate policy mechanisms.

• Strategic & Independent: You perform tasks independently and grow into a leading role providing guidance to others and ensuring methodological consistency.
• Communication Mastery: You can prepare structured status reports risk updates and decision memos for both clients and internal leadership.
• Organization & Logic: You excel at managing dependencies removing bottlenecks and keeping complex international projects on track.
• Climate Expertise: Experience in carbon markets (Article 6/compliance & voluntary markets) or climate finance is essential to lead our specialized mandates.
• Language Skills: Clear and professional communication in English is a must; additional languages (like French or Spanish) are a strong plus for our international work (e.g. projects in Senegal or Latin America).
