This is a remote position.
We are seeking a Technical Lead with deep expertise in AWS cloud engineering to lead the design development and delivery of cloud-native solutions. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership ensuring high-quality architecture strong engineering practices and reliable secure and scalable cloud services.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in serverless architectures container orchestration and AWS DevOps tooling and is comfortable mentoring engineers while influencing best practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design implementation and optimization of cloud architectures using AWS services
Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud-native design patterns and engineering best practices
Architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and API Gateway
Design deploy and manage containerized workloads using ECS or EKS
Drive the development and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines using AWS native tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability security and operational excellence
Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues and guide resolution strategies
Support and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using AWS CDK
Requirements
Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Serverless services including Lambda and API Gateway
Strong experience provisioning and managing Docker containers using ECS or EKS
Solid knowledge of AWS DevOps services including ECS ECR and Fargate
Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Experience with CodeDeploy CodeBuild CodePipeline and CodeCommit
Proficiency with AWS CDK for Infrastructure-as-Code
Strong technical communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence across teams
Nice to Have
Background as a back-end developer (Python or ) transitioning into cloud engineering
Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading cross-functional technical initiatives
Familiarity with distributed systems or event-driven architectures
Required Skills:
3-4 years of experience working in data analytics engineering or a related field. Experience with building or managing a data pipeline in production. Familiar with data SLOs validation and pipeline health best practices. Experience in migration from large monolith tables to domain-specific entities derived from microservices. Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in SQL Tableau Qlik (Strong Preference). Experience with programming languages including R or Python. Strong proficiency in data tools such as Databricks dbt and cloud technologies such as AWS and GCP. Conceptual Understanding: Solid understanding of normalization schema evolution and transitive dependencies. Familiarity with data handling concepts (Loading and Transforming Data). Location: Toronto CA Hybrid onsite 3 days/week normal week is Tuesday and Thursdays on site with one day flex.
