The Specimen Receiving Technician receives processes accessions assigns enters and distributes specimens to uphold quality assurance and control to maintain smooth workflow of the laboratory. This includes daily transports of specimens across different areas of campus.

Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards Required. This position requires regular driving to deliver specimens across campus locations.
The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills effective interpersonal skills and well-developed organizational skills characterized by careful attention to detail. Additionally well-qualified candidates should have the knowledge or ability to learn how to safely handle biohazardous materials how to properly clean and disinfect Biosafety Level 2 areas and how to utilize commonly used computer programs (MS Word Excel etc.) at an intermediate level.
