About your next Challenge as a Material Composite & Structure Manufacturing Engineering:

Reporting to the Methods Department Supervisor the Methods Agent is responsible for defining the methodology required for the fabrication modification or revision of work instructions related to the repair and modification of various aircraft structures. Their primary responsibility is to develop and implement effective work instructions that promote optimal production while meeting quality standards deadlines and cost requirements. They also serve as a liaison between the engineering program planning and production departments.

The methods agent is a technical specialist who combines indepth expertise in composite materials with methodological skills in the field of aeronautical repair and overhaul. He/she stands out through mastery of aircraft structure manufacturing and assembly processes as well as advanced knowledge in composite part manufacturing processes.

What will you do:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to define the optimal sequence of operations.
  • Read and translate plans diagrams and work schematics.
  • Develop produce and verify manufacturing process sheets for the following production centers: sheet metal machining shop paint shop composites shop and assembly shop.
  • Create and maintain the Bill of Materials (manufacturing BOM).
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Respond to production support requests (clarifications corrective and preventive actions) and collaborate with other departments to resolve technical issues.
  • Actively participate in the design phase with engineering to ensure deliverables are feasible and efficient in production.
  • Support prototype manufacturing prototype approval and component delivery.
  • Conduct time and motion studies and establish standard times.
  • Contribute to the estimation and bidding process (monthly forecasts validation of production times).
  • Optimize manufacturing repair and assembly operations for various complex components.
  • Participate in the development of project schedules (MRR part and tooling concept).
  • Define tooling requirements while considering geometric tolerance requirements.
  • Establish manufacturing methodology labor estimates assumptions and risk analysis within proposals and projects.
  • Ensure alignment in the implementation of engineering changes or production improvements in collaboration with engineering planning and production.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelors degree (BAC) in aeronautics aeronautical manufacturing avionics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience on the CF-18 an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of Office suite software.
  • Knowledge of 3D Via MS Project Catia V5/V6 Visio (assets).
  • Bilingual (French/English) both orally and in writing (intermediate level).The knowledge of the English language other than the French language is necessary due to contractual requirements.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

  • Must be eligible for registration with theControlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Level 2 (Secret)security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
