Position Overview:

Primary Location:100 Queens Quay East Toronto ON


The Associate Materials Developer Trims & Packaging supports the development and commercialization of trims and packaging that meet Canada Goose quality standards across all product categories. Working closely with Materials Developers and Design this role supports new developments and colour execution for concept seasonal and special projects. The role also contributes to researching new concepts with a focus on sustainability while aligning with product strategy cost targets quality standards and timelines.

About The Role:

  • Support development and commercialization of trims and packaging materials in partnership with senior developers
  • Execute development activities in line with established processes timelines and quality standards
  • Partner with Product Integrity & Compliance (PIC) to initiate and track testing
  • Create maintain and publish material standard sheets (MSS)
  • Ensure all required artwork MSS and test reports are uploaded into PLM
  • Manage colour development for commercialized trims and packaging
  • Maintain and review development trackers highlighting risks and late adds
  • Request proto sample materials across all product categories
  • Coordinate with nominated suppliers on sampling and development deliverables
  • Support cross-functional meetings and communication
  • Maintain the trims and packaging library and reference materials
  • Manage filing organization and shipment logistics for developments

About You:

  • College or university degree in fashion design material design or material engineering
  • 1-2 years work experience in design or development preferably in the garment industry
  • Attention to detail problem solving capabilities multi tasking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic workflow
  • Ability to work collectively in a team and independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of outdoor industry with a great eye for high end finishes and details
  • Ability to anticipate problems offers solutions and address issues.
  • Confident public speaker and strong presentation skills
  • Effective communicator verbal and written.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workloads meet critical deadlines and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Previous experience in MS Office Illustrator and PLM is an asset
