Summary of Job Purpose:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to all ages of the life span including pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients served by the Food & Nutrition Department. Assumes responsibility for performing inpatient and outpatient diet instructions including food/drug interactions; completes nutritional assessments (SOAP nutrition support notes); calculates nutritional requirements; assess adequacy of nutrition support and makes recommendations on TF/TPN; provides nutritional services for specialty clinics (i.e. medical prenatal radiation oncology); participates in community nutrition programs; functions as a member of the health care team; to provide optimal nutritional care.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: 4 Year Degree prefer B.S./B.A. in Dietetics.
- Experience: 3 years experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- License: RD License Required. NYS CDN required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
