Payments Cost Strategy Specialist
Location: Cupertino CA
Duration: 6 Months
Primary Role:
Create and implement a comprehensive plan to bring down the cost of payment acceptance in key markets across payment methods specifically carrier billing.
Work with our analytics team to assess the contribution to billings cost NTPR and incrementality for the focus markets. Assess for each country and for each of the large individual carriers.
Build country-specific bottom-up models for the cost structure on DCB for carriers to decide how much to reduce price and whether it should be done at the same level globally or by market.
Develop implementation options for a pricing reduction model.
Evaluate the sources of leverage we have in negotiations - e.g. non-renewals stopping of new sign-ups. Test with local carrier teams.
Investigate outstanding legal questions around limitations on negotiating pricing on payment methods (e.g. in Korea).
Agree on approach with all stakeholders and syndicate to all the BD teams. Agree on execution plan and timeline.
Update contract language working with local BD teams and legal.
Qualifications:
3 years of experience in payments finance treasury or product management.
Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem including payment gateways merchant services digital wallets and mobile payments.
Communication & documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in using data to drive product decisions.
Ideal candidate: 5-10 years of experience in the payments space focusing on financial management cost management and contract negotiations.
