Job Summary

Job Title: Maintenance Technician I or II
Reports to: Director of Facilities

MISSION: For more than 50 years the Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been a leading environmental advocacy organization dedicated to protecting Southwest Floridas water land wildlife and future.

PURPOSE OF JOB: Perform a broad range of maintenance technician duties included preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repairs of campus building grounds and electric boat equipment. Assist setting-up event furniture and providing support throughout an event.

Maintenance Technician I: Requirements for this position are described below. Salary will be determined based on the candidates experience.
Maintenance Technician II: The candidate in this position should have two to five years of relevant experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge in HVAC electrical mechanical plumbing and boat equipment maintenance and repair. Salary will be determined based on the candidates experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Performs preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repair of building and grounds equipment.
Performs general maintenance repairs and upkeep of interior/exterior buildings.
Safety and Maintenance Programs:
Observe report and corrects safety hazards and potential maintenance issues.
Communicate any maintenance safety concerns to the Director of Facilities or Facilities Supervisor.
Boat Maintenance and Support:
Support the electric boat program with any repairs or maintenance needs.
Relationship Building:
Develops and maintains good working relationships across all levels in the organization.
Event Support:
Assist setting up events and following floorplan layout instructions.
Providing support throughout an event for any maintenance needs and campus safety.
Administrative:
Performs work order tracking/filing and ordering spare parts and tools.
Handles multiple daily preventative and maintenance support requests.
Supports overseeing outside contractors performing emergency repairs and service contracts on behalf of the Facilities Team Supervisor or Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED and one-year certificate from college or technical school.
Knowledge in HVAC electrical mechanical and plumbing equipment maintenance and repair.
Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Proficient organizational and computer skills
Good collaboration skills.
Availability for on-call duty weekends and overtime as required
Proficiency in ladder work and physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Maintenance Technician I:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules manuals and documents
Strong report writing and correspondence skills
Effective verbal communication
Mathematical skills for addition subtraction multiplication division and percent calculations
Practical problem-solving ability for standardized situations
Willingness to work flexible shifts weekends evenings and holidays as required
Maintenance Technician II:
All skills and abilities listed above under Maintenance Technician I
Mathematical skills for addition subtraction multiplication and division as well as rate ratio and percent calculations.
Ability to create and interpret bar graphs and calculate proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid drivers license and good driving record.

Able to climb ladders.

Salary Range:
Maintenance Technician I: Starting at: $45000 - Commensurate upon experience
Maintenance Technician II: Starting at: $54254 - Commensurate upon experience.
