A Brief OverviewAccountable for planning directing and carrying out with their staff and volunteers a schedule of meaningful activities which reflect resident preferences for social intellectual physical and spiritual desires.
What you will do
- Ensures that recreational activities incorporate physical social religious intellectual physical cognitive and creative components and plan and implements individual and group based programs based on individual needs.
- Management of revising/reviewing of departmental policies procedures and goals and holds self and subordinates accountable to uphold established standards and/or criteria in policies procedures guidelines and regulations.
- Coordinates and leads the resident council meetings and ensures quality communication with resident families.
- Manages and maintains an annual budget and communicates with the leadership regarding this.
- Facilitates training or provides information (about facility wide trainings) required for staff/volunteers.
- Communicates with volunteers and interested volunteers about opportunities to assist with programs coordinates and communicates with payroll/personnel regarding volunteer completing required background check.
- Understands state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Assures accurate and complete documentation of activities in medical record including Minimum Data Set (MDS) portions are completed related to activities.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others hear understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. These requirements and those listed above are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Activity Director Certified - Certification Board within 1 Year
