About the Role
We are looking for aChief Accountantto lead endtoend accounting for our Puebla operations ensuring compliance accuracy and strong financial control in a global environment. This role oversees general accounting statutory and tax compliance monthend close internal controls (SOX) audits and partners with business leaders to support decisionmaking and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Close
- Own themonthend quarterend and yearend close(R2R) ensuring timely accurate and compliant financial statements underIFRSandlocal GAAP (NIFs).
- Review and postjournal entriesaccrualsprovisionsprepaymentsintercompanyandeliminations.
- Overseebalance sheet integrity: reconciliations aging open items and corrective actions.
Tax Compliance & Statutory
- Ensure ontime and accuratetax compliance(ISR/IVA/IEPS DIOT retentions) and statutory filings; coordination with external advisors when needed.
- GuaranteeCFDI 4.0timeliness/accuracy (AR/AP) and alignment withSATrequirements.
- Maintain robustinternal controlsandSOX narratives/testing including risk assessments and remediation plans.
Costing Inventory & Fixed Assets
- Overseecost accountingandinventory valuation(standard cost updates variances cycle counts and adjustments).
- Managefixed assetslifecycle: capitalization depreciation disposals CIP tracking.
Cash AR/AP & Intercompany
- Partner with O2C/P2P leads to securecash application quality DSO improvement dispute resolutionandsupplier payment accuracy.
- Manageintercompany reconciliations netting transfer pricing documentation(in coordination with Tax/Treasury).
Audits & Governance
- Leadexternal and internal audits ensuring timely PBC lists sampling support and closure of audit findings.
- Maintain updatedaccounting policies desktop procedures and RACI.
Business Partnering & Improvement
- Providefinancial insightto Plant/Operations/Procurement on margins cost drivers variances and savings.
- Driveprocess standardization and automation(SAP/ERP reporting controls) and supportcontinuous improvementinitiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degreein Accounting Finance or related field (CPA/Contador Público preferred).
- 7 yearsof progressive accounting experience;3 yearsin a lead/supervisory role.
- Solid knowledge ofIFRSandMexican GAAP (NIFs); strongtaxknowhow in Mexico.
- Experience withERP (SAP preferred) advancedExcel/Power BIa plus.
- Proven track record inmonthend close audits internal controls (SOX) cost accounting and intercompany.
- English: IntermediateAdvanced(global coordination and reporting).
- Strong leadership stakeholder management problemsolving and deadline discipline.
Key Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Close completedon timewithzero material misstatements.
- Balance sheet reconciliations: 100% on time; aging of open items within target.
- Tax filings: 100% timely and accurate;audit findingsclosed as planned.
- Inventory & costing: variance within thresholds; successful cycle count results.
- DSO/AP on-time paymentsupport aligned to targets.
- Control health: SOX tests passed remediations delivered on time.
