Job Description
The Computer Support Analyst I will support the on-site IT operations of the Institute for Protein Design (IPD) providing day-to-day technical support for desktops laptops lab equipment and connectivity to the IPDs data center infrastructure. This position is responsible for responding to tickets from IPD members deploying and maintaining IT equipment in office and wet lab environments and coordinating with IPD staff and external vendors with equipment setup. Additional duties include A/V support for presentations documenting procedures and instructions and training end-users on accessing the IPDs IT resources. The position will also require travel between IPD sites on UW main campus and an off-campus location in SLU.
This role will also assist IPD IT in data center operations primarily deploying new equipment as it arrives. While the primary focus of this is on-site technical support the position will have exposure to data center operations within a high-performance computing environment. Candidates with experience in or interest in learning IT infrastructure operations in academic research environments are preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum Requirements:
Two years of experience in programming or computer support services of a technical nature.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.
