Job Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision provides support to federal state and local criminal justice agencies private businesses and the public relating to criminal justice information. Performs work related to operations technical development quality assurance policy and operational standards and user support with regards to CJIS Programs. CJIS Programs may include criminal history record information uniform crime reporting sex offender registry protective order registry NCIC CJIS network or other services provided by the Georgia Crime Information Center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Laws policies and regulations related to the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) network.
- GBI/GCIC applications and programs.
- Experience as a CJIS Network Operator (CNO).
- Experience as a Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC).
- Commitment to providing professional customer service.
- Strong verbal oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 such as Outlook Excel PowerPoint Teams and Word.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Occasionally light lifting/or moving supplies may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other professionals.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
CJIS Analyst 1; Pay Grade: I:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university OR Three years of experience at the lower-level Criminal Justice IS Spec 3 (ITT082) or position equivalent.
CJIS Analyst 2; Pay Grade: J:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience at the lower-level Criminal Justice IS Analyst 1 (ITP210) or position equivalent.
CJIS Analyst 3; Pay Grade: K:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience at the lower-level Criminal Justice IS Analyst 2 (ITP211) or position equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum qualifications preference will be given to applicants with work
experience in one or more of the following:
- Laws policies and regulations related to the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS)
- Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) network
- CJIS Validation System
- National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS)
- Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR)
- Protection Order Registry (POR)
- Sex Offender Registry (SOR)
- Laws policies and regulations related to the Georgia Sex Offender Registry (SOR)
- National Data Exchange (N-DEx)
- Computerized Criminal History (CCH)
- Awareness and Understanding of GCIC and NCIC Manuals
