Reporting directly to the On Wing Support (OWS) Global Training Leader the Regional Site Training Leader will coordinate and deliver local OWS Training in line with the OWS Global Training strategy. Provides expertise in analyzing technical learning needs and responsible for maintaining and leading the local site training plan aligned with current and future state needs covering all roles and functions within the OWS organization.

Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies and will follow individual leader standard work meeting day-to-day short-term objectives. Candidates must have an ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning and be able to project-plan long term initiatives. Positive working relationships with technicians support staff customers and suppliers are critical to the success of this role.

The main focus of this role is to coordinate and in some cases deliver initial and recurring engine maintenance training at the DFW and CVG/Batavia training centers for multiple wide narrow body and regional jet engines. This role will involve providing input and coordination in the development and maturity of both training centers.

GE On Wing Support is a 24/7/365 operations at 8 sites in multiple global time zones. Although the primary work location is the DFW on wing maintenance facility the role does require willingness and flexibility to support occasional business travel to accommodate training requirements at our global sites and in particular routine in person engagement with CVG site on a monthly basis.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the global training leader and local quality leader to develop and maintain the training system compliance to both the regulatory requirements and GE Aerospace internal training KPIs by considering long-term demand signals strategic capacity planning and capability/scope changes.
  • Working with appropriate subject matter experts maintain the annual training plan to ensure the initial & recurring training is completed on time ensuring current/relevant content is available via online or in-person media as appropriate in the following areas;
    • Company initial/onboarding and recurring training
    • Regulatory requirements including applicable mandatory continuation training and safety management training
    • Product familiarisation & theory
    • Practical skills including coordinating OEM type training
    • On Job Training
    • Train-the-trainer
    • Support function specific process training
    • Leadership development and soft skills training
  • Deliver internal practical and theory training course to staff.

  • Refresh the training syllabus & courseware to follow the current training program.
  • Evaluate the participants understanding of the course during each activity to determine the effectiveness of the training and make necessary provision and adjustments accordingly.
  • Continuous improvement of the training course based on risk management leveraging best practices lessons learned training feedback etc.
  • Gather training demand from each department to satisfy the employee development plan.
  • Facilitate the training coordinate the training enrolment manage applicable logistics/security arrangement produce certificates of attendance.
  • Build relationships with external & Internal training providers to maintain an acceptable level of resource availability.
  • Manage Covalent learning management system maintaining training records and employee summary for employee authorization demand.
  • Establish and revise SOP and training materials of GE OWS CVG and DFW sites
  • Work with OWS Quality Organisation Site Lead and Global Training Leader towards achieving standard Training and Competency Assessment requirements within each Part 145 Organisations Quality System to position for greater cross-site flexibility in future.
  • Build and manage an early-career pipeline 3-4yr vocational training program () partnering with appropriate local education/aerospace training institutions as appropriate in locations where this pathway is feasible.
  • Partner with formal development program leaders (OMLP MOLP JOLP etc.) to attract program candidates to applicable OWS roles assist development while in role and to maintain future candidate pipeline for permanent roles.
  • Partner with Site Leader Strategy Leader and Global Training Leader to ensure required resources and/or funding are available to support future training needs.
  • Maintain an active interest in technology developments within the field of technical training evaluate potential use-cases for technological improvements and make recommendations where appropriate.
  • Champion and coordinate proof of concept trials for OWS maintenance including developments in workscope requirements disassembly/assembly methods and product flow philosophy prior to rolling out as a standard across the OWS network

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience in aviation services (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4 years of experience in aviation services).

  • Experience working in and navigating computer applications such as SSS Excel SAP & Gensuite.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understands all policies practices and procedures.
  • Strong sense of priority.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
