Job Summary
The Cardiac Care Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. This role supports patients recovering from advanced cardiac and cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced high-acuity telemetry environment. The position offers strong opportunities for clinical growth and advancement in cardiac and critical care nursing.
About the Unit
Comprehensive cardiac telemetry and cardiac care unit
Patient population includes individuals recovering from:
Open heart surgery
Cardiac catheterization with stent placement
Ablations
Pacemaker and AICD implantation
Cardiovascular surgical procedures
Recognized as a comprehensive stroke and STEMI-capable service line
Team-oriented collaborative environment
Fast-paced unit with a strong focus on problem-solving and clinical excellence
Ongoing advancement in knowledge and skills related to critically ill cardiac patients
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care under the direction of nursing leadership.
Assume accountability and responsibility for the delivery of safe effective nursing care.
Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies procedures nursing practice acts and professional standards.
Monitor patient condition recognize changes in cardiac status and intervene appropriately.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of acute care cardiac nursing experience or closely related experience preferred.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or compact).
BLS certification required upon hire.
ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
Basic computer proficiency required.
Strong oral and written communication interpersonal organizational and leadership skills.
Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
