MRI Technologist Veterans Affairs Medical Center
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting Potential Opportunity for an experienced MRI Technologist to support the VA Medical Center in Portland Oregon and/or VA Medical Center in Vancouver WA. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly respected federal healthcare environment serving our nations Veterans with access to complex imaging cases and advanced technology.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
ARRT certification as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist with MRI specialty
Current BCLS certification
Minimum 2 years of experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment under a Radiologist
Recent experience: Must have worked as an MRI Technologist in a hospital setting within the last 6 months
Current professional liability insurance
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex MRI examinations including head neck spine abdomen chest and upper/lower extremities
Operate superconductive MRI equipment using advanced imaging protocols
Follow prescribed MRI Radiologist protocols and adapt to complex or unique imaging assignments
Verify patient identity explain procedures and ensure patient safety (including pregnancy screening)
Maintain accurate patient records imaging documentation and system entries (DHCP)
Edit and review images for quality positioning and proper identification
Maintain infection control standards and ensure exam room readiness
Identify and immediately report safety concerns or equipment issues
Participate in after-hours on-call and emergency imaging services as scheduled
Provide excellent customer service to Veterans visitors and staff
Adhere to VA Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS) policies across modalities (MRI CT US Diagnostic)
