We are looking for motivated individuals with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn who are excited to join theResearch & Development functionsupporting the Clinical Operations team with efficient compliant effective planning and execution of clinical trials and adhering to regulatory standards. No prior experience isas you will be given full training.

As an apprentice in the global clinical development department I thoroughly enjoy the dynamic nature of my role in R&D. My responsibilities range from administering and coordinating logistical aspects of clinical studies to defining and coordinating sample management strategies. I have gained invaluable experience working onvarious studies which have honed my skills inmaintainingand managingdifferent stagesof clinical trials. The knowledgeIveacquiredfrom my time in Global Monitoring & Site Engagement and Laboratory team has been instrumental in my current role in the Clinical Delivery team. This journey has not only enriched my understanding of clinical operations but also fostered a deep appreciation for the intricate processes involved in clinical development.
R&D Clinical Trial Specialist Apprentice
Education required:
Five GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics at Grade 4 or above.
At least two subjects at A Level (or equivalent) including Chemistry / Biology.Alternativelyyoumusthave completeda Level 3 Laboratory Technical Apprenticeship in a relevant science discipline.
Language requirement:Written and spoken fluency in English
Duration:5 years
Location:GSK HQ London.You must live within a 60-minute commute of the site by the time your apprenticeship begins as you will be expected to be on-site 2-3 times per week.
What will you do
During your apprenticeship youwill be involved in a variety of tasksthat support theplanning and delivery of clinical trials. Responsibilities may varybut could include:
Study Support:Assistin the setup monitoring and close-out of clinical trials ensuring compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements.
Data Management: Support the collection entry and verification of clinical trial datamaintainingaccuracy and integrity.
Documentation: Help prepare review andmaintainessential study documents and reports.
Site Coordination: Coordinate communication andlogisticswith clinical trial sites and vendors.
Regulatory Compliance:Assistin ensuring all activities adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
Project Assistance: Provide administrative and operational support to project managers and study teams.
Training Participation: Engage in training sessions to develop knowledge and skills related to clinical operations and study delivery.
Quality Assurance: Support quality control efforts to ensurehigh standardsin study execution and data management.
This apprenticeship could includefiverotations in roles which support Clinical Trials in the UK and within a central global team.Rotationsmay be within theGlobal Monitoring & Site EngagementHuman Biological SampleManagement Global Clinical Delivery Data Strategy & ManagementorDigital Analytics & Performance teams.
Will travelling bein this role
Yes travel will beto fulfil role responsibilities particularly in Site Engagement where you will be travelling to monitor visits across different sites in the UK. University campus visits and summer schools are also expected.
