Job Summary
The Opportunity
We are looking for skilled and experienced Excavator Operators who are local to the Sparks/Reno area to join our team on the ground floor! This position reports to the Construction Manager and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active well-funded team gain valuable experience and advance your career as GRC grows.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to operate various types of heavy equipment such as excavators dozers backhoes compactors articulated dump trucks and/or front-end loaders
- Ensures equipment is in good working order at all times
- Must possess skill coordination and awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency
- Willingness to operate heavy equipment for long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety
- Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly
- Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
- Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
- Load and unload tools materials and equipment on the truck
- Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
- Setting up safety perimeter using signage cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
- May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
- Ability to follow instructions
- We tend to stay local to NV but we will move around the state.
- Some out of state work may take place
Required Qualifications
- Excavator: 1 year (Required)
- Experience is (Required)
- Must Have Valid Drivers License
- On-call and weekend availability
- Travel is Required
Preferred Qualifications
- FTTH FTTX Experience (Preferred)
- CDL A (Preferred)
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Understanding of basic utility construction processes and terminology a plus
Additional Information
Salary Range: $24 - $28 Hourly based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 100%

Target Start Date: 2-3 weeks from offer
