Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Laboratory Section Coordinator to support hospital-based laboratory operations in Port Charlotte Florida. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned Medical Technologist who is ready to take on operational oversight quality leadership and staff development responsibilities while remaining actively engaged in clinical testing.
This position plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance optimizing laboratory workflows and delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform STAT and routine laboratory testing with a strong focus on accuracy and turnaround times
Execute and document quality control procedures in accordance with established laboratory protocols
Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. CAP CLIA)
Assist laboratory leadership with training mentoring and development of technical staff
Prioritize and delegate testing based on patient acuity staffing competencies and productivity standards
Monitor daily laboratory operations and provide feedback to leadership on performance and workflow
Serve as a clinical and operational resource for night shift laboratory staff
Lead by example fostering teamwork accountability and service excellence
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Science (required)
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred)
Active Florida Technologist Supervisory License (required)
ASCP or equivalent certification (strongly preferred)
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care or hospital-based laboratory
