Job Summary

The incumbent is responsible for supervising and coordinating staff in all areas related to the construction and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructure. Consulting with Engineering and utility companies prior to excavations and checks all job sites for compliance keeps the affected public informed regarding shut -offs and other water and sewer problem. The successful candidate is responsible for exercising cost control within budgetary guidelines by following proper purchasing procedures making monthly checks on assigned fire systems i.e. hydrants valves etc.) and assists during Sewage Treatment Plant and Lift Station breakdowns. Performs other supervisory duties and call out.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Certification in Manitoba Wastewater Collection II and Water Distribution II
  • Significant relevant experience (5 years) in the maintenance and construction of sewer and water infrastructure.
  • Computer proficient
  • Ability to interpret plans specifications policies plan and prepare written reports
  • Must possess current valid Class 5 Manitoba Drivers license
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
