This is moderately complex accounting/clerical work in balancing payroll data recording adjusting entries and generating reports. Subsequent to receiving initial instructions an employee of this class is responsible for the effective performance of relatively complex but recurrent clerical duties. Work assignments are usually self-initiated and the employee exercises independence of judgment and action within time and statutory regulation constraints. Special tasks are assigned by a supervisor in oral or written form. Work performance is periodically reviewed by a supervisor and is evaluated in terms of accuracy completeness and conformance to established procedures and standards.
