As a Principal Field Quality Engineer (FQE) you will play a critical leadership role within a cross-functional appliance factory organization driving world-class quality performance across the Dishwasher product portfolio at the AP3 Dishwasher Plant. You will lead the strategy analysis and execution required to reduce Cost of Quality (COQ) improve Service Call Rates (SCR) and elevate the customer experience.

Serving as the primary quality liaison between Manufacturing Design Engineering Service Product Management and Commercial teams this role blends technical expertise AI-enabled analytics and strong influence to rapidly identify field issues implement robust corrective actions and ensure sustained quality improvements.

How Youll Create Possibilities

Field Quality COQ & Advanced Analytics Leadership (40%)

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive year-over-year SCR and COQ reductions targeting world-class quality performance.

  • Own and communicate Dishwasher field performance across warranty concessions damage and insurance metrics by platform and subsystem.

  • Leverage AI and advanced analytics to normalize service data improve failure mode accuracy and accelerate early issue detection.

  • Identify trends determine root cause and partner with Design and Manufacturing to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Translate customer feedback and AI-driven insights into actionable improvements across factory and engineering teams.

  • Monitor SCR daily and COQ weekly escalating issues and tracking effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Validate fixes through post-implementation performance monitoring and call analysis.

  • Analyze system-level returns and lead resolution strategies.

Quality Holds & Containment (20%)

  • Own Dishwasher Quality Holds from identification through closure at the AP3 plant.

  • Coordinate containment actions across manufacturing and distribution centers.

  • Define rework strategies tooling resources and execution plans.

  • Communicate Quality Hold status and progress to Product Management Distribution and Quality leadership.

  • Verify and document effectiveness of corrective actions.

Service Parts & Customer Interface (15%)

  • Act as the factory point of contact for Field Service Technical Assistance and Customer Relations teams.

  • Support service training materials service bulletins and technical communications.

  • Partner with service parts teams to ensure correct parts usage and supersedure.

  • Own AI-enabled Save the Call case-based reasoning content and performance metrics.

  • Support development of customer education materials including digital and video content.

Damage Returns & AI Analysis (15%)

  • Analyze Dishwasher damage returns to distinguish factory versus distribution root cause.

  • Use AI tools and data/image analytics to identify damage patterns and systemic issues.

  • Lead corrective action projects across Manufacturing Packaging Logistics and Distribution.

Production Reliability & Validation Support (10%)

  • Analyze data from the Production Reliability Audit Test Lab (PRAT).

  • Review findings with Design and Manufacturing teams and drive corrective action closure.

  • Escalate reliability risks and ensure timely resolution.

What Youll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering OR equivalent relevant work experience required.

  • 7 years of plant high-volume manufacturing operations or quality experience.


Preferred:

  • High initiative self-starter results-oriented and team-focused.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence change.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Experience using AI-enabled analytics tools or demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt advanced data systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel) and ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Excellent communication presentation and leadership skills.

  • Strong project tracking and execution skills.

  • Field Quality or Quality Leadership experience.

  • Experience with SCR warranty damage and AI-driven field analytics.

  • Desire to work in a manufacturing-focused environment.

  • Knowledge of highly automated Dishwasher products or similar high-volume low-mix assembly processes.

Working Environment:

  • Office environment with daily factory and shop-floor interaction.

Travel:

  • Less than 10% of domestic travel may be required.
