The Opportunity
We are seeking skilled Directional Drill Operators who are local to the Sparks/Reno area. This position reports to the Construction Manager and offers an opportunity to join a strong collaborative team at an early stage of growth gain valuable experience and contribute to the continued expansion of GRC.
Responsibilities
- Position consists of general heavy equipment operation for construction
- Drilling equipment operators can operate a variety of equipment used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground construction or utilities in a safe and effective manner
- Safely operates drill equipment on the job site which may include but is not limited to the following: Directional Drill Backhoe/Excavator Skid Steer Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water) Vacuum Truck/Trailer
- Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
- Will develop and maintain a boring schedule
- Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
- Load and unload tools materials and equipment on the truck
- Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
- Setting up safety perimeter using signage cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
- May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
- Ability to follow instructions
Required Qualifications
- Directional Drill Operating: 1 year experience
- CDL A
- A valid drivers license is required for most positions
- On-call and weekend availability
Preferred Qualifications
- Falcon F5 experience preferred
- Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Understanding of basic utility construction processes and terminology a plus
Additional Information
Hourly Range: $25 - $33 Hourly based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift Monday - Friday & Night Shift Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 100%
