Position Summary / Career Interest:
Performs patient care under the direction of and as assigned by the Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Performs technical skills to include phlebotomy peripheral IV catheter placement and IV therapy initiation.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Assists with appropriate patient care as delegated by Registered Nurse (RN).
- Collaborates with RN to modify plan of care.
- Performs intervention delegated by RN.
- Reports observations regarding effectiveness of intervention to RN.
- Communicates effectively with patient family physicians and health care team.
- Applies safety and infection control measures.
- Performs phlebotomy duties.
- Peripheral IV catheter placement.
- IV Therapy initiation.
- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience- High School Graduate or GED OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Education and Experience- Six (6) months EMT experience.
Required Licensure and Certification- Current Missouri Paramedic or Community Paramedicine license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) upon Hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 Days
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 Days
