As a Process Engineer youll play a crucial role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for display and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. You will collect and analyze data perform hardware characterization and troubleshoot engineering issues. Youll also measure film properties generate technical documentation and engage with customers to resolve concerns. Process Engineers collaborate with vendors and suppliers and become familiar with implementing new technologies and products. You will experiment learn and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the semiconductor and display industries partnering with our globally recognized R&D teams on state-of-the-art research and development projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Tool & Process Ownership

    • Serve as primary owner for all Wet Clean tools
    • Maintain stable process performance through recipe optimization SPC monitoring and rootcause elimination.
    • Create and maintain process documentation run sheets and chamber/tool configuration accuracy.
    • Manage consumables chemistry usage vendor PM schedules and CoO considerations.

    Operations & Sustaining

    • Respond to tool issues with urgency; partner with equipment engineers on troubleshooting and recovery.
    • Validate tool health following maintenance part changes or facility events.
    • Drive uptime improvements by identifying chronic issues and implementing corrective actions.
    • Monitor and maintain chemical delivery systems waste lines filtration temperature control and DI water interfaces.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Ensure tools operate in compliance with all Applied Materials safety standards (chemical handling LOTO/SP exhaust performance leak checks).
    • Lead process hazard reviews (chemical changes new recipes process expansions).
    • Support gas/chemical shutdown and YEM coordination activities with BUs and facilities teams.

    CrossFunctional Integration

    • Work with BU process owners to align process capability POR conditions and metrology flows.
    • Support tool installs facility readiness and acceptance testing for new Wet Clean tools.
    • Collaborate with GWI on exhaust chemical waste DI water and temperaturecontrol issues.
    • Participate in crossmodule integration efforts to improve yield defectivity and tool:tool matching.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate process documentation tool run status risk logs and change records.
    • Support readiness activities for customer demos quals and highpriority development runs.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. in Chemical Engineering Materials Science Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • 36 years of experience in Wet Clean processes semiconductor process engineering or related wet chemical operations.
    • Strong understanding of chemical processes etch/clean mechanisms defectivity drivers and surface preparation fundamentals.
    • Proficiency in SPC DOE methodology and structured rootcause analysis.
    • Handson experience with wet bench safety chemical handling and hazardousmaterials protocols.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.

For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
