Horizon School Division invites applications for the position of Staff Accountant. Duties will commence March 2 2026 or as mutually agreed.
The Division
The Horizon School Division serves 3500 students in ten rural communities: Lomond Enchant Vauxhall Hays Barnwell Grassy Lake Warner Milk River Coutts and Taber. There are 14 schools 3 Outreach Programs an Alternative Christian program and 19 Hutterian Brethren Colony Schools served by a quality staff comprised of 225 teachers and 200 non-teaching staff.
Division Office
Taber is located approximately 50 km east of Lethbridge and 260 km southeast of Calgary. The population of Taber is currently over 8000. The economy is strong and diversified with agriculture petroleum production and secondary service industry.
The Candidate
Reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Finance & Operations and the Director of Finance the Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial reporting functions throughout all cost centers by following Division policies and procedures and in accordance with Federal and Provincial legislation.
