JOB SUMMARY
The Recreation Coordinator supports the Group-Living Director (GLD) by ensuring that evenings weekends and all non-school hours are well scheduled and filled with group experiential learnings and fun activities on and off campus. Working with the GLD the AL Coordinator ensures that all off-campus activities are well planned safe and sufficiently staffed before initiating the activity. The AL Coordinator needs to know and understand each students Behavioral Improvement Plan (BIP) and be able to effectively relay that information to residential staff. Working with the therapists and the educational staff the RC will help determine and refine which behavior management techniques are most effective and will make revision recommendations to the LRA Positive Behavior Plan quarterly. The AL Coordinator taking guidance from the GLD will provide intensive OTMSS (Orient Train Monitor Supervise Support) to selected group-living staff with a particular focus on improving behavior management skills -- demonstrating that a meaningful activity implemented with enthusiasm can be effective at minimizing problematic behaviors.
