The ING UK Graduate Programme will provide you with hands-on experience and broad exposure to the banking world over 12 months. You will work as an integral part of a team helping to deliver impactful solutions for ING in a specific department. We offer opportunities across three streams:
Financial Markets Sales and Trading
Front Office Capital Markets & Advisory and Corporate Banking
Support & Control functions Product Control Trading Risk Management Research and Technology
Research
The ING Research Department is a vital part of ING providing comprehensive analysis and insights on global macroeconomic trends financial markets and sector-specific developments. Led by Chief Economist Marieke Blom the department consists of over 60 economists and analysts who produce regular publications reports and forecasts. They engage in presentations and seminars and frequently contribute expert opinions to the media. With a global reach the department collaborates internationally and maintains local insights to offer a well-rounded perspective on economic issues supporting both internal and external clients with valuable information.
Emerging Markets Corporate Credit Team
The ING Emerging Markets Corporate Credit team provides comprehensive analysis and insights into corporate credits within emerging markets focusing particularly on the CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa) and Asia regions. The team combines fundamental and technical analysis to offer actionable trade ideas and sector-specific insights. Their research covers a broad range of themes including economic shifts geopolitical developments and market trends helping investors navigate the complexities of emerging market credits. By leveraging their expertise the team supports clients in making informed investment decisions and optimizing their portfolios in these dynamic markets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in conducting thorough research and analysis of publicly traded companies in emerging markets focusing on their creditworthiness and financial performance.
Support the team in evaluating credit risk factors such as industry trends competitive landscape macroeconomic environment and regulatory frameworks to provide insightful credit research reports.
Conduct financial statement analysis and assess the creditworthiness of companies by analysing key financial ratios cash flow debt profile and other relevant metrics.
Assist in preparing presentations and reports summarizing research findings and credit recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Stay updated with market developments news and industry trends related to emerging markets and provide timely updates to the team.
Collaborate with team members in data gathering modelling and scenario analysis to support credit risk assessment and decision-making processes.
Assist in monitoring and tracking the performance and credit quality of existing portfolio holdings in emerging markets.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of research methodologies tools and processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the teams credit research activities.
Key Skills and Requirements
Essential
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program preferably in Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field
Understanding of financial modelling process Excel and other relevant software applications.
Knowledge of financial statements reporting standards credit analysis frameworks financial markets and emerging market dynamics is preferred.
A strong interest in corporates financial analysis credit research emerging markets and global financial markets.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Desirable
Completion of relevant coursework in finance economics or related fields.
Relevant Internship Experience: Previous internship experience in finance banking or related industries is advantageous but not mandatory.
