As an employee of the Boston Fed you will work to promote sound growth and financial stability in New England and the nation. You will contribute to communities the region and the nation by conducting economic research participating in monetary policy-making supervising certain financial institutions providing financial services and payments playing a leadership role in the payments industry and supporting economic well-being in communities through a variety of efforts. The Boston Fed is one of 12 Reserve Banks and we serve all or parts of Connecticut Maine Massachusetts New Hampshire Rhode Island and Vermont. The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is offering a limited number of exciting internships to qualified college students. Summer internships are full-time paid positions that start in May/June and typically last 10 to 12 weeks. Summer interns can expect to work on one or more projects with the Banks economists and research analysts to conduct research in various areas of economics and will develop valuable data analysis and programming skills.

Compensation: $18-$36 per hour. Actual pay within the range will be set based on undergraduate/graduate year and relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors degree with emphasis in economics or a closely related field such as finance statistics mathematics or computer science

  • Working knowledge of econometrics and/or statistics packages such as Stata MATLAB R or Python

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
