Job Summary

REQUIREMENTS:


Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Two years of technical engineering degree or equivalent preferred.


Experience:
One year of facility maintenance experience two years preferred. Experience in operation and maintenance of hot water and steam boilers; proper water treatment; burner operation; centrifugal pumps; knowledge of fire alarm and automatic sprinkler fire systems; knowledge of heating ventilation and cooling systems; and electrical plumbing and sewer system equipment. Knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving operations preferred.


Physical Requirements:
Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination walking and standing. Frequent bending carrying pushing pulling reaching stooping turning and sitting and crawling. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs intermittently. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Other Requirements: Ability to operate delivery truck and forklift. Ability to recognize equipment malfunction. Ability to give direction effectively. Shares responsibility for holiday extended day and weekend activities with other operations staff. Ability to work modified assignments as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

  1. Responsible for the daily management and operations of central receiving warehouse and assigned facilities in which to provide maintenance.
  2. Processes incoming deliveries stocks shelves picks orders and prepares for delivery to buildings.
  3. Maintains accurate inventory within central receiving warehouse.
  4. Transports and delivers supplies equipment and furniture; assembling when necessary.
  5. Responds to facility emergencies.
  6. Maintains and enforces safety and sanitation procedures.
  7. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance in regards to mechanical systems electrical systems heating and cooling systems fire alarms and sprinkler systems plumbing and sewer systems sound and lighting systems and facility entrance systems for all District facilities.
  8. Performs preventative maintenance repair remodel and small construction work on buildings.
  9. Requisitions maintenance supplies tools and equipment.
  10. Assists with facility inventory of supplies and furnishings; maintains tools and equipment.
  11. Works with outside sources such as inspectors suppliers and contractors.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
