We are looking for a Technical Project Manager in the Construction Installations Group to join our team in one of todays most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Director Global Program Management and will be based in San Jose CA. This is a fully on-site in office role 5 days a week.

The Technical Project Manager is the principal owner of largescale project execution leading initiatives from midstage development through commercial operation. This highly visible role partners crossfunctionally across Bloom Energy and serves as a key interface with Fortune 50 customers and strategic vendors.

The position leads multiple technical leaders and external partners to deliver fully turnkey unit operations ensuring projects are executed on time within scope and to Bloom Energys quality standards. The role also provides technical guidance to Sales and Origination teams during earlystage project development and contributes to new product development efforts.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Principal responsible and accountable for solid oxide fuel cell energy development programs from mid-stage development to commercial operation requiring direct and/or indirect management of the following:
  • Project budget and schedule creation and execution
  • Project design process optimized for cost quality and minimal customer disruption
  • Design and construction contract negotiation and fulfillment
  • Management of internal technical resources both within the installations department and within Product Development.
  • Construction and project documentation completion to meet all technical and governmental standards
  • Contribute to the success of Bloom Energys long-term process improvement efforts
  • Ensure exemplary safety and execution performance through specific metrics during site construction and commissioning
  • Ensure that Bloom Energy customers are 100% satisfied with both the product and the development experience
  • Deliver presentations confidently to all project stakeholders and sell new ideas to Bloom Energy senior leadership and its customer base
  • 25-35% travel

Skills and Experience:

  • 8 years of project management experience required; 2 years of distributed energy Carbon Capture or Centralized Desulphurization experience strongly preferred. Candidate experience must include management of multiple schedule constrained large capital projects with multiple contractors.
  • Project management experience should include management of budgets schedules design contracts and construction contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams of subject matter experts required particularly technical engineering and product development team.
  • Extremely organized and can confidently communicate project status and risk mitigation strategies to Bloom Energy senior executive leadership with little notice.
  • B.S. Engineering: Chemical Civil Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Scheduling software programs: Microsoft Project and/or P6
  • Command of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Advanced experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience in a fast paced dynamic and risk tolerant organization a plus. Candidate must demonstrate ability to adapt to changing environments to deliver on customer and business needs.
