About the Position
The Outreach and Community Manager PGA Sustainability is responsible for building managing and engaging a community of film television and emerging media producers around sustainability and climate action. The positions focus is on fostering collaboration sharing best practices supporting industry-wide initiatives and encouraging the adoption of sustainable production practices. This is achieved through educational programs trainings workshops and communications for the Guilds 8400 members and the entertainment industry. - Is an effective communicator and can both design and execute engagement campaigns supporting the Guilds sustainability resources and tools for producers.
- Is capable of supporting the organizations multi-stakeholder collaborations and can attend relevant sustainability-focused industry convenings as a representative of the organization.
- Works in close coordination on a daily basis with several of PGAs external stakeholders and internal teams.
- Is self-directed and can strategize and present new opportunities to amplify and offer engagement around the Guilds sustainability work.

Compensation Reporting Structure and Work Schedule
- Compensation: $65000 annually commensurate with skills and experience.
- This is a full-time nonexempt position.
- Reports to the Associate National Executive Director.
- Location: Los Angeles office. The Guild works on a hybrid schedule of in-office on Tues Wed and Thurs and remote on Mon and Fri. The position may require working at events on evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Outreach and Community Manager PGA Sustainability break down as follows (Note: the Associate National Executive Director and/or other Guild leadership may modify the following responsibilities and/or percentages as appropriate to meet Guild priorities):
- Support Guild leadership on its sustainability initiatives - 10%
- Oversee the Guilds sustainability efforts including the creation and execution of all outreach and engagement campaigns pertaining to the Guilds sustainability tools educational programs mentorships and resources including the design launch and ongoing execution of the Guilds forthcoming Sustainability Tool Kit - 80%
- Write edit or otherwise provide content/materials to the Guilds marketing and communications teams and partners for all of PGAs sustainability events programming workshops and activities (and that of its stakeholder partners) - 10%
Support Guild leadership on its sustainability initiatives
- Work closely with Guild leadership in the development of a strategic plan and roadmap for the Guilds sustainability work including development of any metrics for charting engagement and outcomes.
- Convene stakeholder meetings such as the Inter-Guild and Union Sustainability Alliance and serve as the key day-to-day contact. This includes scheduling quarterly meetings ensuring the amplification of materials and resources to PGAs constituency and providing agendas and re-caps for all meeting participants.
- Participate in PR calls on sustainability (with the Guilds firm of record) to understand the organizations narrative.
Create and execute all outreach and engagement campaigns pertaining to PGAs sustainability tools and resources
- Create and execute a marketing plan for the launch and roll-out of PGAs Sustainability Tool Kit launching in Spring 2026. The plan must be capable of engaging producers where they are at in terms of their knowledge and understanding of sustainability and climate action.
- Build maintain and nurture lasting partnerships with key sector stakeholders.
- Create a year-round calendar of opportunities for engaging PGA members and the producing sector around sustainability and climate action.
- Establish a database of key sustainability contacts and partners.
- Work in close coordination with several of PGAs external stakeholders and internal teams including: the Guilds Sustainability Task Force Inter-Guild and Union Sustainability Alliance and PR firm of record; PGAs Program & Events Department (on scheduling of events); Membership Department (on identifying and supporting member engagement with the Guilds tools and programs); Legal Department (on contracts and reporting); and Digital Marketing Manager (on updates to the Guilds CMS social media channels and guild-wide member communications).
- Manage external contractors and vendor relationships as needed.
- Ensure that all PGA programs and events as well as any official collaborative programs and events adhere to the Guilds policies for producing events with sustainable best practices.
Write edit or coordinate sustainability materials for marketing and communications purposes
- Ensure that PGAs platforms are maximized to amplify PGA and partner resources and information about sustainability and climate action with an eye toward growing the number of producers actively engaging with these practices and content.
- Monitor and periodically refresh the list of resources for inclusion in PGAs forthcoming new sustainability microsite.
- Manage and take responsibility for developing moments during key PGA events (e.g. PGA Awards Produced By Conference) to advance the Guilds sustainability goals and resources.
Skills/Minimum Requirements
A successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in project management pertaining to events for the film and television industries
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks for film and television (e.g. Green Production Guide albert)
- A clear understanding of the general landscape of the entertainment industry including the specific networks of relationships intersecting with producers (e.g. guilds/unions financiers studios vendors talent/management companies festivals film commissions supporting organizations and events)
- BA or MA/MS degree in relevant fields
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent project management skills and meticulous attention to detail
- A successful track record in coalition-building and multi-party stakeholder relationship management and communications
- Diplomacy including an ability to navigate competing interests
