Permanent. Part-time work 20 hours weekly from 15:00 to 19:00 (4 hours daily) over five days including alternate weekends

A laundry assistant plays a crucial role in a care home ensuring that residents have clean fresh clothing and linens. This not only contributes to their comfort and dignity but also helps maintain a hygienic environment which is essential for their health and well-being. By managing the laundry efficiently a laundry assistant supports the overall smooth operation of the care home allowing other staff to focus on providing direct care to residents. Their work though often behind the scenes is vital in creating a pleasant and safe living space for everyone.

Youll help us make health happen by:

• Managing the laundry effectively including washing drying and ironing residents clothing bedding and communal laundry

• Ensuring the laundry room is kept clean at all times and that theres a regular supply of detergent and fabric conditioner

• De-fluffing the tumble dryers daily

• Managing the collection and distribution of all laundry items to and from residents rooms

• Reporting all safety hazards to management ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSSH are adhered to at all times

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Your friendly and approachable demeanor will help you forge enduring professional bonds with colleagues residents and their families. You recognize the significance of adhering to high standards ensuring a secure environment and meticulously maintaining records. Your attention to detail is sharp and you take great pride in your work. Familiarity with industrial washing machines and laundry presses as well as prior experience would be beneficial. Equipped with robust communication skills you excel at collaborating across various functions and services.
