Description
Background Information:
  • The purpose of this request is to acquire an Intermediate Project Manager to lead projects related to the Health Innovation Pathway (HIP) playing a key leadership role in ensuring that the team achieves its objectives and its annual commitments to the Ministry of Health. and nbsp;
  • The Project Manager will manage complex multi-workstream projects including guiding applications to HIP through their lifecycle from Intake to Implementation.
  • HIP brings promising innovations into the health system improving patient outcomes driving economic growth and helping Ontarios health system reach its full potential. It is designed to accelerate the adoption of new technologies that can improve patient care. The pathway connects the dots for end-to-end innovation adoption in Ontario creating a single window to introduce new solutions and giving health service providers the tools they need to improve care. and nbsp;

Must haves:
  • Experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts (e.g. project goals risk scope participant roles project and work package planning and amp; scheduling and quality management)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and strong stakeholder engagement skills including experience working with clinical experts technical teams and healthcare administrators
  • Time and nbsp;management with the ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • 5-8 years of relevant Project Management experience leading projects in a healthcare environment is required including managing medium to large projects/programs with progressively increasing scale and scope of execution authority
  • Demonstrated success working in matrixed management structures and engaging diverse stakeholder groups to achieve organizational goals
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare sector and experience working within healthcare system environments
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects of high priority complexity and long-term duration with provincial scope for the Health Innovation Pathway program including managing all applications to the pathway throughout their lifecycle
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Pull diverse internal and external interdisciplinary groups together emphasizing interdependence shared overall objectives and the need for combined skills
  • Monitor all project deliverables to ensure successful delivery within the constraints of scope schedule cost and quality
  • Lead complex interdependencies between projects and with key partners
  • Conduct regularly scheduled status reviews provides business guidance identify deviations to work plan and implement corrective action
  • Develop and present material for review and informational purposes using excellent written verbal and graphical communications skills with ability to express complex concepts effectively
  • Be the key interface with Managers Directors executives and internal and external partners
  • Create new or improve existing project and portfolio management standards (including processes and tools)

Desired Skills:
  • Professional certifications: Project Management Professional; Knowledge and understanding of Project Managements Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Demonstrated project management software skills and experience e.g. MS Project MS Teams etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working with various Project Management delivery methodologies (e.g. Waterfall Agile etc.)
  • College/University degree in Health Sciences Health Administration Business Administration or related field is required
  • Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures and nbsp;
  • Experience in change management process development and business/project management operations is preferred

  • Strong understanding of the healthcare sector and knowledgeable of the Health Innovation landscape in Ontario and beyond. 20 and nbsp;Points
  • Proven track record of working with Clinical Experts Government technical teams and healthcare administrators. 10 and nbsp;Points
  • Demonstrated success working in matrixed management structures and engaging diverse partner groups. 10 and nbsp;Points
  • Able to Lead complex interdependencies between projects and with key partners. 10 and nbsp;Points
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting all timelines and requirements. 10 and nbsp;Points
Total Evaluation Criteria: 100 Points

Deliverables
Deliverables Include:
  • Manage HIP applications throughout their lifecycle
  • Management and maintaining of HIP Master Tracker
  • Internal and external partner engagement and management
  • Design of processes trackers and tools
  • Project risk/issue management
  • Project reporting and tracking

Knowledge Transfer Details:
  • The resource will ensure full knowledge transfer is provided to the Ontario Health team before end of engagement. Some of this might occur at the end of the engagement but will also be shared as information is obtained/consolidated. Key deliverables will be shared with team.
  • The resource must provide all related documentation as part of knowledge transfer protocol. Documents will be reviewed by the appropriate leads and signed off by manager/director.
  • The resource will work collaboratively with the Ontario Health team throughout the assignment and ensure key deliverables milestones and documentation are shared.
  • A walkthrough of any demos development etc. will be required before the end of the engagement.
