Join the NSW Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and play a critical role in managing and protecting the data that drives decisions for a sustainable future. Our work supports climate action clean energy water management and environmental conservationand we need skilled professionals to make it happen.

As Senior Data Analyst you will transform raw data into actionable insights collaborate with business units to identify trends solve problems and optimise performance outcomes and help shape how data is used right across this role you will be at the centre of our new hub and spoke data and analytics operating model providing expert guidance and developing ways of working that will be rolled out across the department.

What Youll Do:

  • Source collect and analyse data from internal and external sources to identify emergent trends ensuring reporting data is accurate and verifiable
  • Apply advanced analytics and statistical techniques to uncover patterns and deliver meaningful insights
  • Present complex findings in clear accessible formats for technical and nontechnical audiences using effective visualisation
  • Oversee data management practices aligning with business objectives best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver timely accurate analysis that supports informed decision making across the department
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to promote learning and facilitate information sharing

About You

Youre confident working with complex and varied data sources ensuring accuracy and clarity at every step. You know how to translate data into insights that support business decisions presenting your findings in ways that make sense to any audience. You collaborate well with others build strong stakeholder relationships and keep up with new developments in data analysis. Youre ready to play a central role in shaping data practices across the department. Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience are essential.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the states natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state to support the environment communities and industry.
