ChristianaCare is recruiting a Pharmacy Student Intern beginning in Summer 2026. The intern will work a minimum of 24 hours per week during summers and school breaks and as needed throughout the school year.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As a Pharmacy Intern you will achieve accelerated professional competence through exposure to the technical and clinical aspects of ambulatory and specialty pharmacy practice.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in patient encounters with clinical pharmacist and assesses patients drug regimens for drug-drug interactions renal dose adjustments allergies medication omissions or therapeutic duplication
- Analyzes lab results for patients on therapies requiring therapeutic drug monitoring and dose adjustment or titration
- Develops knowledge on specific disease states and guidelines that help to direct evidence-based treatment
- Assists with obtaining medication histories and providing medication education
- Enhances presentation skills through formal and informal patient cases journal clubs or pharmacy staff education
- Collects organizes and evaluates data on medication use for assigned projects
- Assists pharmacy administrators and staff in completing departmental projects
- Exposure to the practice aspects of ambulatory and specialty pharmacy practice through projects technician shadowing and assisting technical staff
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required
- Currently in second professional year or later of an ACPE accredited Pharm.D. program
- Desire to pursue a career in ambulatory pharmacy practice
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- Computer experience preferred (e.g. window based programs)
- Basic typing skills
Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
